Don't know what you think of this, but i think I'm going off caravan club sites.....i know there clean....but.....they all look the same......i'm beginning to feel like i'm in a car park.......and they are not cheap.......and some sites offer so much more, for much less cost, and are so much more unique.....is it just a phase i'm going through....what do you think?

I havent used them although I have been a member for a few years now, I mainly keep up with membership for car insurance is with them and breakdown cover also.
I like caravan and camping club sites as the caravan club seems a bit snooty to me.
Also noticed that the so called friendly older people who caravan seem to be miserable sourpusses who dont like anyone else on site who aint retired.
That puts the cat amongst the pigeons eh what!

You know what Tez, never a truer word was spoken. Some of the friendly older people (and I must stress this is a minority) have been purely rancid.

And you know whats really p*ss*ng me off, that bl**dy gravel that serves as hard standing. I'm forever sweeping it out of the awning, it gets in the caravan, the kids put it in their pockets, they dig it up, thinking their on a beach (well they've gotta find something to do cos caravan club play areas are pretty sh*t), but at least it keeps em from skatebording near the vicinity of some elderly caravan club members van, where by some chance the sound of their skateboard wheels might cause water ingress in their new Lunar Chateau!!!!

And to make matters worse, you have some jobsworth old g*t as a warden, doing their utmost to make you feel guilty that you own a caravan and are not over 80 years of age (BLACKWALL PLANTATION!!!!!) and under no circumstances should you feel welcome or enjoy your stay...even when you are paying in excess of ten pounds over sites that offer swimming pools, nightly entertainment, tennis courts, golf, etc etc.

And yes, I too thought Caravan Club car insurance was great.....but shop around (see my main website), I've got it a hell of a lot cheaper, with protected no claims discount so even that arguments gone out of the window.

You go to the loo in some strange caravan club site, and guess what, it just looks like any other loo on any other caravan club site across the country, wheres the exceitement in that , I, like everybody else, gain great satisfaction in enjoying new facilities.

Hmmm!!!! and my Caravan Club membership is due this month, what will I do, I'll no doubt renew, and you know why? How could I get by every month without a glimpse of that sexy fox sultry temptress, the horny Jenny Norton, Information Officer and dirty minx, she makes the Caravan Club worth every penny, don't you agree fellas.

Sounds like you may be a bit stressed matey.

whilst at scalby manor previously I was filling aquaroll when i just looked round and found myself inadvertently looking towards an old gits caravan and they shut the blinds rather swiftly as though I was staring in (misery gits )
and once we were pitched in the old gits section at scalby (they like to call it the paddock) and all the vanners were happily chatting to each other but made it quite clear they werent gonna speak to us even though we were civil to them so now we just keep ourselves to ourselves and if any old misery gits say we are unsociable youngsters then its their fault.
I guess I may need a bit of tlc also grin

I definitely have noticed that some of these so called friendly caravanners are not so friendly, Its not all of them but there are a lot more than I expected to come across.
I dont look down on anyone and I will not tolerate anyone doing it to me, But it is clear thatmost of these miserable gets are older types rolleyes

Hi
I joined this site today after the link from T&T.

I would also like to add about some unfriendly "genteel folk" if I may.

I was pitched at a C&CC site in Bangor on Dee (prior to it's closure, obviously!) and an older couple pitched next to me. Well it was a pleasure to watch, first of all he backed into the electricity bollard and then his levelling was a joy to behold. His wife was an arrogant bovine who looked down her nose at me and my children and did not smile or so much as acknowledge me.

People complain about the CC but if the behaviour of the C&CC wardens we saw recently are typical then their claim to be the friendly club is way way off the mark!

Well the site itself was:-

Unkempt
The loos were dirty and needed updating
The hard standings were so narrow to park both van and car on em - not allowed to park on grass - I had to fold car mirror in to get into the van! No room for awning. Oh and you pay extra fr hard standing on C&CC sites!

The wardens:-

Well there were about 7 of em so you would expect a tip top site - ha ha - a CC site of similar size would have 4 and be much better kept.
Two of em were rude, shouted at folk and genearlly narked at everyone.

I've written to complain!

Doesnt really sound good at all does it, If that was my first impression of a c&cc site then I probably would not visit another, And if the wardens were that rude to me then I would have to let em have it.
